Our History
The inaugural DOULA EXPO by Mama Glow took place Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at The Atrium in Bushwick, Brooklyn. We safely gathered over 400 doulas, birthing individuals, caregivers and families and had over 30 brands activated in the 6,000 square foot space.
The Spring 2022 DOULA EXPO by Mama Glow took place on Saturday May 21st, 2022 in the heart of Williamsburg Brooklyn at 25 KENT in a 16,000 square foot space, four times as large as the Atrium. We gathered over 1,000 attendees and 40 brands and organizations activated in the space.

The THEME
Welcome to the future.
Our theme this year is Birth to the Future. We are leaning into principals and thought leadership that explores the imagination, hope, and futuristic possibilities for reproductive justice and birth equity. What if the world was set up to center and support the needs of birthing people and families? What if we created a space where Black birthing people and other marginalized birthing folks were safe? What are some of the tools that can help us make advancements and impact along the reproductive health continuum?
Guests at the Doula Expo by Mama Glow will explore interactive booth and lounge experiences, as well as curated content centering community connection, education, advocacy, personal growth, storytelling and support.

What is the Doula Expo by Mama Glow?
The one and only Doula Expo by Mama Glow is an annual culture-shifting festival that centers a vision for the future of birth work. Curated by the global maternal health and education platform, Mama Glow, the festival caters to birth professionals and families, prioritizing, education, connection, and community. It’s a space where brands and organizations in the wellness, reproductive and maternal health spaces can interface with consumers, professionals, industry experts, elected officials, influencers and community leaders through brand activations. The interactive festival experience includes keynote conversations, expert panel discussions, TED style talks, demos, lounges, interactive booths, live performances, exploration, and networking. This event is open to all people interested or involved in maternal and reproductive health, wellness, mental and behavioral health, and beyond.
For birth professionals including: doulas & care providers, The Doula Expo is an opportunity for you to convene with peers and industry leaders, to develop authentic connections, and build community with other birth professionals. The content on the stage and in the lounges inspires learning, reflection and sharing. This space is designed to help you amplify your work, connect with organizations, and grow your businesses.
If you are a doula, care provider, lactation professional, therapist, acupuncturist, nurse, midwife, childbirth educator, case worker, healing arts professional, community advocate, or physician you don't want to miss this gathering.
For expectants and families: The Doula Expo is a space where you can access curated resources, meet practitioners and experience products and services from brands and organizations in the maternal and infant health spaces. You can indulge in self-care in our parenting lounge and accompany your little one in our children’s play space. We have a special changing area and an infant feeding lounge if you are looking for some quiet and privacy while you take care of your little one. You have the opportunity to learn from leading industry experts, make new connections, new friends and expand your birth village.
If you are interested in starting a family, undergoing fertility treatment, are an expectant or new parent, nursing or bottle feeding, or a parent with children of toddler age, we are excited to see you!

Why do we need a Doula Expo?
There is a nationwide imperative to expand the doula workforce as a response to the current maternal health crisis in the U.S. We believe in centering the power of community, imagination, joy and unique problem solving as we work together to design a future where birth is safe, affordable and equitable. This event elevates important conversations and convenes people from all walks of life and industry with the shared desire of improving maternal health outcomes.
The Doula Expo is the first-ever culture-shifting event of its kind that centers a vision for the future of birth and has been thoughtfully and beautifully curated with birth workers and birthing people in mind. The festival inspired by the incredible community of birth workers and families served at Mama Glow.
Proceeds from the ticket sales benefit the MAMA GLOW FOUNDATION, a 501c3 non-profit organization advancing reproductive justice and birth equity through education, advocacy, and the arts. Your ticket purchase supports doula scholarships for novice doulas across the country, and grants for doula support for families.

Attendees have the option of wearing a mask while indoors at the venue.
IMPORTANT TICKETING INFORMATION
Tickets are non-refundable and there are no exceptions. Tickets are transferable, if you purchase a ticket and are no longer able to attend the festival, you can transfer your ticket to another attendee for use.
